Cariboo Chilcotin shorelines are as important to biodiversity of plants and animals as the forests, grasslands and wetlands of our region. Shorelines filter water, stabilize banks, and protect the land from erosion and flooding. For people, they are important for: clean drinking water, economic opportunities, recreation, aesthetics, and the overall liveability of the places we call home.

The Cariboo Chilcotin Shorelines Initiative is taking place in 2015-2017 and will engage appropriate groups, agencies, and other stakeholders to focus on riparian residents to reduce the amount of riparian habitat being impacted by uninformed decisions by landowners.
